The Smokehouse

The Smokehouse was set up in 1989 by Jonathan Newberry. He started smoking food when he worked as an 18 year-old chef at Gravetye Manor in East Grinstead, West Sussex.

We produce cold and hot smoked foods and we are particular about the quality of the ingredients and materials we use. We smoke a range of produce from cheese to oil, but our main product is smoked salmon. We source our salmon from Loch Duart in Scotland. We supply to an array of top restaurants around the country.

Testimonials

"I have known John, since 1996 , the time when I took over at Harvey’s restaurant in Bristol. I remember trying his smoked salmon one evening. I then contacted John, and he has supplied me in 5 different restaurants since. What I really like is the consistency of his product, the time he allows to do it, and always the same result, fabulous. He does not compromise, he is still after all these years passionate about making it as good as possible and my word he does, I would not have another supplier. This is as good smoked salmon as it get. Thank you John, your consistency make us consistent."
